Strengths: Origional Plot and Plot twist Detailed/intresting Storyline, very effective Very relatable Good use of lighting Fits the genre well Provokes questions Weaknesses: Will it be hard to find a setting ?- we are going to do lots of close ups in the opening sequence so the location doesnt matter so much. Might be too much to fit in an opening sequence- we arent doing the whole plot in the opening. Make sure you dont give too much away in the opening. How will you show the police- the police bit isnt in the opening sequence.

Initial Ident Ideas

We chose the name of Psyco Logical from thriving about words that link with the thriller genre. The two main themes of thrillers that we thought of were Psychological and Puzzle, we think that through our ident we have shown these themes. The picture of the side profile will fade in from a black screen, the cogs in the brain will the begin to turn. Meanwhile the name of the ident appears around the moving image. Then everything fades out to reveal a black screen again. The fact that the word 'psychological' is separated add to the effect. It makes the audience have to think  even before the film sequence starts. We chose the word 'uncertain' because it links to themes such as mystery which is a common thriller convention. The word also helps to create a mood and feeling of fear. Because of how we designed the ident its gets the viewer asking questions. http://megforemanaspreliminary.blogspot.co.uk In this preliminary task we did a continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door , crossing a room and sitting down on a chair opposite another character. We had to  demonstrate match on action, shot reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. I did the preliminary task so that I was prepared for the main task. It allowed me to learn some basic key techniques that I may well go on to use in my main task. It also gave me room to make mistakes.
